I fucked Filthy Ape up and washed out at the runout. It was my bucket list item 4/4 to complete and i had to do it. So what do i do, last day riding, really angry at the weather, didnt sleep well because i was fixated on doing it regardless of the weather. So like an idiot when all signs were saying today is not the day to attempt it i did it anyway. I did the right line but i could not get my speed in control as there was crap on my tires and the slab was wet. Well lets say the run out was a wash out. I think when i realised i was out of control i panic braked at the transition this caused the fork to fully compress and pogo sticked in to a side wash out. Bit brused and battered but really really angry with my self as my determination overrode my common sense. I know that you control your speed to the knuckle, then release brakes to run out through the jank and transition and then re brake after the transition with definatly no front brake through the transition. Next year will be a lot smoother and in control. I walked away from this dumb decision with a greater sense of if it doesnt feel right leave it and come back, even Remy M said the same thing. I know i have the skill set as i have done even steeper lines on the mountain. Well done on the smooth run out 😊

Incredible. Three days of park is beyond my endurance, at least so far. I spent three days at Northstar opening weekend this year, and I was incredibly beat that last day, such that I ended up landing on my face wearing my half-shell. No harm done in the end, but a suboptimal end to a very rad weekend.

Hello alan im planing a trip to cali LA area im interested on hitting this trail That being said ive seen other videos on this trail and said they gotten about 1000ft of elevation and about 8 miles Is it the same trail?

As someone who broke his front teeth on his stem 22 years ago this scares me ! 😂😂😂 Looks awesome for downhill totally natural. Does it not put your weight over the rear tire more? My main issue w 63 head angle bikes is no front tire contact on tight hairpins when racing- pisgah is all pretty darn tight and i haven’t seen anything wide open like you are riding here since i moved to WNC. Lived in cali more than a decade the fire road races were only on gary littlejohns…. iFykyk

Just got back from Whistler, my opinion it’s over hyped. The braking bumps are atrocious! I think I’ll stick to Europe. I recommend Andorra. The jump and flow trails are awesome.

Some of those creekside trails are killer on the legs. Insomnia was a beast a couple years ago. That and Blue Velvet required lots of rest breaks.

Alan, I'm planning to go back to Whistler next spring, maybe opening week. I'm thinking if they re-groom the trails, it will be more fun. In July, the breaking bumps are more like potholes! Your thoughts?

Hi Alan. Did you slip the zeb straight into the headset. I've heard the reign e has 1 1/8 bearing at the bottom?

I just installed a set of these on my Ripmo AF and I did not see a difference in between ends on the olive. They looked symmetrical to me no matter how I looked at it. I even used 2 side-by-side changing the orientation and still looked the same.

heck yeah, we hit all those and you were spot on. I will say I hit the upper blacks and even a couple of doubles the first day out, and that was a huge mistake. It was so overwhelming it almost wrecked what little confidence I had. I spent all of day 2 jumping and on blue tech then had an awesome bro who had been up there 4 days prior show me some proper lines with proper follow speeds. From there on it was a full day of awesome tech mostly solid blacks but also some of the same , if not exactly the same doubles you showed. RAD Footy. I haven't even begun to edit yet. seems overwhelming ! Maybe august lol

Just got back from there. No blacks for me, but there are about a million BLUES!!! Creekside side has some really good trails, and FREE parking. Great video as usual!
